Where strategy meets impact

Both Calvin Rose and Eric Rosenfeld built their careers engineering solutions to measure what many would consider unmeasurable.  They first teamed up at Bose Corporation.  They were assigned a mission to create the company’s first computer-based measuring systems, using math to assess the performance of audio speakers and electronics. In 2004 an idea began to percolate between the two men.  If they could use algorithms to answer extremely complex questions for Bose, why couldn’t they do the same within the stock market?

Calvin and Eric teamed up with statistician, Jeff Wesnofske, to develop the Natural Selection Algorithm.  In their eyes money management was a math problem with a definitive solution.  The technical challenge intrigued them and they began their own personal research project.  They developed tools to evaluate various investment models using the scientific method.  Their research quickly exposed critical flaws in the Modern Portfolio Theory, the primary framework used by many investors.  The team's theories evolved into concrete methodologies that could accurately predict and improve investment outcomes.  Clear Capital Management was born.

Clear Capital Management takes an entirely different approach to money management using a proven proprietary technological approach through the application of Fundamental, Algorithmic, and Technical (FAT) analysis.  We identify risk and safety assets that move opposite to each other during bad equity markets to create true diversification. This in turn creates a non-linear effect where the total portfolio performs better than its constituent parts.
